The System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to Family Health Services policies and regulatory laws and guidelines.


High school diploma or GED; at least 5-7 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Bachelor's degree in computer related field and/or Microsoft System s Administration certification preferred.


Thorough understanding of Microsoft Server products such as DPM, Hyper-V, Cluster Management. Exchange and SQL servers. Ability to independently analyze and improve the hardware and software performance of these systems. HIPAA security and privacy regulations. Disaster recovery and failover systems. Active Directory, DNS and DHCP , Remote Desktop Services and Domain administration. WAN/LAN configuration and wireless systems and security. Experience with E.H.R, Practice Management or Medical systems a plus.  


  • Manage daily system monitoring of key systems and jobs such as backup and reporting
  • Perform regular security monitoring
  • Perform regular file maintenance and data archival as necessary
  • Install and configure desktop/laptop/thin client and server systems as necessary
  • Manage Hyper-V failover clusters and VM backups and replication
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards
  • Develop and maintain system configuration and installation procedures
  • Manage user account requests create, change and delete
  • Manage domain/local group policy
  • Provide support for remote and local systems
  • Investigate and trouble shoot hardware and software issues
  • Participate in disaster recovery testing for hardware and software failures
  • Review maintain and implement security and OS patches as needed
  • Work with other IT staff to support and maintain FHS software and systems
  • Participate in Helpdesk support and documentation.
  • Antivirus/malware and data encryption support
