SUMMARY: Perform specified duties and responsibilities within the IT department.  Assist staff in satellite clinics with support problems.  Quote/Assist with pricing and IT purchases. Create/Assist with IT and interdepartmental documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or GED.  Work requires communications and analytical skills normally acquired through two years of post-secondary education in mathematics, computer science or a related field, or equivalent technical training in a computer-related field.  At least two years work experience with computer operations, network communication systems and telephone support to become familiar with a variety of hardware and software applications.  Applicants will be required to pass a background check.


  1. Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Must be fluent in all MS Office applications. Must be fluent with Windows 7 and Server 2008, 2012 OS. Linux skills and Web design skills a plus.  Must be able to support differing third party applications/hardware that Family Health Services staff and systems use on a daily basis.
  1. Interpersonal Skills: Work independently and as team member, does not need constant supervision for direction.  Self-starter that can maintain schedules for daily routine(s) and projects.
  1. Essential Physical Requirements: Job entails travel to satellite offices, walking, sitting and standing. Manual dexterity and use of keyboard and other office equipment. Requires hand/eye coordination and use of desktop/cellular telephone.  Requires hearing and vision correctable to normal limits. Normal depth perception, speaking ability and sense of touch required. Requires lifting of up to 50lbs.  Requires the ability to work in building crawl spaces and attics (confined spaces).
  1. Essential Mental Abilities: Ability to meet and interact in positive way with people. Also able to organize and multi-task. Communicate effectively and in a culturally appropriate manner. Memory, attention to detail, explaining, and reasoning.  Able to control language.


  • Answer telephone calls for the Help Desk in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Perform a variety of support analysis and monitoring tasks for Family Health Services help desk; triage computer, network and software problems and assign support to appropriate technical staff; log, coordinate and track requests for assistance related to FHS-supported systems as a primary user contact.
  • Maintain liaison with FHS staff and technical staff to communicate the status of problem resolution to users; log and track requests for assistance related to FHS-supported systems; gather and log appropriate demographic data related to each request.
  • Will provide support and setup with NextGen Electronic Medical Record, Electronic Health Records, Document Management and Practice Management systems.
  • Will work to maintain client PCs, peripherals, telephones and software in the field. Will log calls with vendors to facilitate equipment repair.  Will assist in deployment of client systems.
  • Provide afterhours remote and onsite support.
  • Participate in the preparation of procedure manuals and documentation for help desk use; conduct periodic user satisfaction surveys and track user problem trends.
  • Participate in the distribution of computer related information to users to include information such as help desk procedures and computing/network handbooks.
  • Participate in employee orientation process/employee training.
  • Provide website design and support for internal and external sites.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
